About the artist

Squilts is the studio of Simi Q, working by hand in Karachi, Pakistan.

Every piece here is stitched, painted or assembled by hand in my home studio. I have been quilting for over twenty years, and each work carries its own patterns, colours and stories — scrappy quilts, hand-painted furniture and small useful things made to be loved for a long time.

Everything in the gallery is made by hand — quilts pieced and quilted stitch by stitch, stools painted one brushstroke at a time, accessories sewn from treasured scraps. Most pieces are one of a kind; if something has already sold, a similar piece can often be made to order.

Pieces are sold at bazaars and popup events around Karachi, and sent further afield by arrangement.
