Notes from the winter quilting circle

Our Thursday group finished the community sampler quilt this month. Twelve of us each pieced two blocks at home, and we spent three afternoons setting them together with sashing in a soft grey that lets every block breathe.

If you are new to sampler quilts, start with blocks that share one anchor colour. Ours was a deep madder red — you can spot it in every block, and it is what makes twelve very different hands feel like one quilt.

The finished quilt will be raffled at the spring bazaar; proceeds go to the group's fabric fund.
